Teddy Turned Two

Nana was with us this year to celebrate Teddy's birthday. She was in town to watch the boys for a couple of days while Halsey and I took our last trip before baby to a wedding in the Berkshires. She stayed with us for 10 days (thanks, Nana!), and kept us all organized as school ended, travel commenced, and baby waiting took place.

Teddy's birthday coincided with the end of school for the boys, so we had multiple days of celebrations. To kick off the birthday week, Teddy had a party at school, and then we celebrated the start of summer with an ice cream outing at Cabot's. I have never seen both boys so excited. Nana and I had as much fun watching the boys reactions as we did eating our ice cream. Hopefully we can make the ice cream outing an annual event!

A milestone we celebrated as he turned 2 was Teddy's first haircut! Both he and Pierce went in for a cut to get all gussied up for the parties, and Teddy was an all-star in the chair. Here are some before and after pics of both boys.

The family celebration was great--birthday breakfast, followed by present opening. Teddy was super excited about everything he opened, from books, to tractors to clothes! There's just something about that wrapping paper. We had a great day of fun before a family dinner and Elmo cake to top things off! We also had his 2 year check up with Dr. Joyce. She was impressed with his vocabulary, and that he is off the charts for height and weight. He is 38 inches tall and 34. 5 pounds. How far he's come!

His farm birthday party was at the playground down the street this year, and we all had a terrific time running, playing, sneaking Munchkins and eating cake. The rain held off for the festivities, and we got in the full party before it began sprinkling right at 11. We had a tired boy at the end of the celebrations--turning 2 is hard work, but it sure looks good on you, Teddy! We love you.
