The Merry Month of May

We had a great end of the month with a trip to Philadelphia to visit Chris, Liz, Foster and Molly, and Nana and Pops too! Pierce and Teddy were expert travelers for our long car ride. We had a break along the way to see Terry and Aunt Edie for lunch, and she was so happy to meet Teddy and see Pierce again. It was a sweet reunion and a great reason for a pit stop!

When we arrived in Philly,  Pierce was so excited to see Foz, that he bounded out of the car and gave him a giant hug. We had so much fun over the weekend, with trips to the Zoo, swimming, and celebrating Foz's 3rd birthday. The boys even shared a room at our rental house, and did a pretty good job. We can't wait for another cousin reunion at the end of June.

Identical cousins--striped shirts and khaki shorts!

And he's off...

Teddy has been crawling well for the last month or so, and is a regular cruising furniture (with the bruises to show for it). He is always on the move, and gets there....FAST! Just this week he climbed up Marmie and Papa's flight of stairs--all the way from the entryway up, then started beelining for the 3rd floor. At home, he found out what the walker wagon was really for. Here's a video of him on the go--sorry it's sideways!

Early Summer Adventures

As summer approaches, we are doing some improvements around the house. This last week we had the windows replaced and so had to be out of the house for 2 full days on days where I didn't have work or coverage for the kiddos. So we patched together something for the morning on Thursday, then headed out to Acton for Teddy's first trip to the Discovery Museum. He LOVED the water table best, and both boys left our outing drenched and exhausted!

Friday was beautiful and we left bright and early to a field trip to Marmie and Papa's house for a day out by the ocean.  We had a blast out at Singing Beach digging, dodging the cold waves, and testing out sand toys. It was s fun sneak peek into what the summer holds.

Surveying the scene

Coming up...we are painting the exterior of the house, so we'll have more adventures out with the boys soon!

Fair(y) Tales

Winchester is buzzing with activity this month! Following on the heels of our trip to the Children's Own fair, we headed to the EnKa Fair in town, a big annual event. Last year we ventured to the fair with Pierce, but he was too young to enjoy any of the rides, and we just wheeled around in the stroller. What a difference a year makes! This year he wanted to try all of the rides, and we made two visits in one day. We returned to the fair in the afternoon after picking Halsey up at the airport following his trip to Asia. What a sport, Dad! In the afternoon, Pierce especially loved the giant ferris wheel that gave us a view of the whole town.

Nana was here to lend a helping hand while Halsey was away, and we had a great time reading stories, baking, and celebrating Mother's Day with her. Thanks for coming, Nana!

Looking dapper in his "party pants"

We've had a couple of pretty days, and the boys have loved playing inside and out. Here are some fun pics from their adventures!

Ride, Piercy, Ride!

Pierce is going on year 2 of his obsession with horses! Anytime we pass a farm he asks where the horses are, and when we head to Myopia, no trip is complete without a visit to the barn to see the ponies and horses. Up until now, Pierce has been intrigued by pony rides, but not quite brave enough to "get back on the horse". We've waited in line, gone up to the front, and even sat on the ponies, but never quite made it to the point where the horse moved with Pierce on it. Well, this weekend, that all changed. Our little equestrian hopped on, and didn't show an ounce of fear as he cruised around the ring. He looked like a natural--we were so impressed!

May Days

May is off to a busy start! We celebrated Erin and Annette Bourque's birthdays at a combined 3rd and 1st birthday party over the weekend. Teddy had a blast watching the big kids play, crawling around and up on top of every toy in sight, and enviously eyeing the birthday cake. Hard to believe in two short months we'll be celebrating his first birthday, and diving into cake!
The Birthday Girl

Birthday Girl II
Pierce and Erin are such a treat to watch play together. They love doing what the other is doing, and give big hugs when they've been separated for too long (like 5 minutes)! Their friendship is so sweet, and they love the time they spend together.

Teddy is into everything these days. Climbing up the bottom stairs at home, climbing into Pierce's bed using the step stool, taking toys out of bins, and standing up whenever he gets the chance. He also seems to love the piano as much as Pierce does, so we have been treated to some pretty fantastic duets as of late. When standing, he'll let go and stand for a moment before sitting down, and has started checking out the walker toys around the house! He'll be off and running before we know it...

Pierce continues to make us smile with his running commentary, questions and songs. He is such a happy and joyful boy, and loves to let anyone who will listen what is on his mind!
